A park on the south end of Hilo Bay has a pedestrian bridge that leads from Banyan Drive to this grassy little isle. Originally called Mokuola (Healing Island), there are shallow pools with sandy bottoms that are ideal for the kids. A favorite with the locals for fishing, swimming and picnicking.
